Darul Huda Punganur: a brief account
Darul Huda Alumni Hadia took the initiatives to put the foundation stone to Andhra Pradesh Campus, named as Manhajul Huda Islamic College (MHIC) at Punganur in Chitoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Campus locates 562 km far from Hyderabad city and 550km away from its Kerala Campus. The Institution which is under the auspices of the well-known religious Institution Darul Huda Islamic Academy, Kerala Managing Committeechanged its name later to Darul Huda Punganur. This Institution founded on 20th August 2007 and established on10thJune2009. Darul Huda Punganur caters to the Telugu speaking students of Andhra Pradesh, with the teaching of Telugu language and literature along with English, Arabic and Urdu languages. Now it has just started accomplishing great achievements in the educational field.
Aims and Objectives
Darul Huda Punganur was established with the purpose of creating a generation of Islamic scholars fully equipped with traditional and modern variants of religious knowledge, in conformity with the values imbibed and expounded by the ancestors; who will be well aware of the challenges of the modern times and capable of taking them up, instilled with enough sense of responsibility to initiate the educational development and social guidance of the society.
Course of Study
One of the distinct features of Darul Huda Punganur is that its curriculum which attaches as much importance to the material education as it does to the religious knowledge. At religious level, its syllabus accounts for the education from primary level to the degree level, whereas, its material curriculum is from sixth to the degree level (BA). The aim of the course is to provide students comprehensive and qualified studies in modern and religious knowledge and equip them with advanced acquaintance, competence and fluency in four languages, namely, Arabic, English, Urdu and Telugu.
The course of study proposes a syllabus that contains all relevant Islamic and modern subjects like the Qur’an, Hadith, Thafseer, Tasawwuf, Islamic history, rhetoric and prosody, Arabic literature, translation and composition, Mathematics, Science and technology and advanced study in four languages, namely, Arabic, English, Urdu and Telugu.
Students aged below twelve who have completed five year primary education at formal schools are eligible to be enrolled in this institution, provided they clear the entrance test which is held in the month of May every year. For those who are selected in the interview, the course begins in the first week of June.

Darul Huda Punganur offers to the students such an atmosphere, which helps bringing out the talents that are latent in them. Smart Class Room, fully automated library namely Zainul Ulama Library, Reading Room with four language newspapers, Computer Lab, DH Grand Masjid and vast Playing Ground are some of the facilities provided in the campus.
Preliminary Madrasa Project
Darul Huda Punganur has extended its educational activities to the surrounding areas as well, the nearby villages of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, which are educationally backward. The institution has come forward to set up preliminary Madrasas in these areas so that the children there can learn the basics of Islam. More than 50 such Madrasas are running under the supervision of HADIA (Hudawis Association for Devoted Islamic Activities), the alumni Association of Darul Huda Islamic University.
What Darul Huda Punganur envisages is not only the development of the area it located at, but the development of the whole community and that of the country also. We humbly request everyone who wishes best for the community to stand by us and help this cause. May Allah reward all our good deeds.
Name of the Union: SAFA
Students’ association for forward activities (SAFA) is the students’ platform for the development of Darul Huda Punganur. Formed as SILM (Students’ Ideal League of Manhaj) in 2014 and later name was changed to SAFA (Students’ Association for Forward Activities) on 12/09/2018 in Muharram new year assembly. SAFA actively works to enrich the multi faceted talents and potential of students. It conducts several cultural and literary programs in the campus. The union has 10 sub committees to take care of different kinds of activities and SAFA has its own office in the campus.
