National Institute for Islamic and Contemporary Studies (NIICS)

This 12-year course offered by the DHIU is the core academic program of University. This is meant for the students from the various states of India who speak Urdu. It's divided into four levels namely: five-year secondary, two-year senior secondary, three year Degree and two- year Post Graduation. The curriculum contains all related Islamic and Modern human science subjects like Quran, Hadeeth, Fiqh Hanafi/Shafi, Tafseer, Taswuf, Aqida (Islamic theology), Mantiq (Islamic logic), Islamic history, history of Islamic civilization, science and technology, mathematics, social science, computer and information technology, etc. more over enough attention is paid to make the students well acquainted and equipped in four languages: English, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Farsi. After completing the first two levels successfully, DHIU makes it mandatory for each and every under graduate student to pursue an official degree course in any of the arts or humanities subjects (Economics, English, History, Politics, and Sociology) offered by the major universities. Unlike the first three levels, the level of PG is characterized by the specialization allowing the students to excel in the areas of their interest in various fields of Islamic sciences under any one of the five departments. After the successful completion of these four levels of continuous 12-year stream of education, DHIU awards on every student the honorific title of “Al-Hudawi”. In order to achieve the Al-Hudawi Sanad Certificate students should have to submit one Master Thesis and Degree Dissertation to their department.

Admission Criteria

Each year DHIU enrolls only bright and talented students aged below 12 in the year of application. The admission is based only on merits and intellectual potentials of applicant that are evaluated through rigorous and standard oral and written entrance tests. The Interview board will check the Basic Language skill of the candidate in Arabic, Urdu and English, in addition to that he should have ability in Mathematical and reasoning skills also. The centralized admission process (CAP) offers the applicant the facility to choice the institution that he wants to carry his study there and by this process the top credits scorers are enrolled according to the availability of seats in the main campus and its affiliate colleges and it also ensures transparency in admission. No any recommendation or special quota are allowed or reserved for any groups of society. The call for application is made in the Arabic month of Sha’ban every year, while the entrance test is held in the first week of Shawal. The aspirant should fill the application form available in the official website or in the main office of DHIU on or before Ramadan 20. The class for the new batch will start in the second half of the Shawal same year. It should be noticed that, DHIU offers a continuous stream of twelve year studies starting from the secondary level until post-graduation. There for, it does not allow a fresh or direct admission to any levels.


To help the practical implementation of tools of students, university offers many vivid and unique extra-curricular activities. like seminars on relevant issues, interaction with notable personalities, publication of books and CDs and arrangement of intellectual group discussion inside and outside the campus about the recent events and topics, yearly arts fest, Indoor and Outdoor Orientation Camps at various eco-friendly villages of intra and inter-state, Mahallu survey, academic tour to the different institution run under the different organization and principles.

Class Promotion Criteria

Continuous and comprehend evaluations program is developed by the board of examination to check out the academic progress of students. The board will conduct each year three terminal examinations at the first two levels of secondary and senior secondary and who is able to achieve the fixed percentage of marks determined by the board is allowed for the promotion into the next year. The last exam of the 5th year of secondary and 2nd year of Senior Secondary are public exams comprising the whole students of this curriculum i.e. students of main campus and of all affiliated colleges. At the levels of Degree and PG the board will conduct semester based (two semester each year) examinations and who is able to achieve the fixed percentage of marks determined by the board is allowed for the promotion into the next sem/year. The whole programs including the evaluation are supervised directly by the board of examination and they are independent to take any decision related to the examination. In these levels, university offers the supplementary examination for such students who failed to achieve the fixed percentage of credits. If any student has to repeat the same class twice continuously or thrice randomly he might have to discontinue the course.
